2 Weeks before 2018!
Exactly 14 days from now we'll be welcoming 2018 into our
lives. Another year passed in a blink. This year has its fair share of ups and
downs. So I decided why not make the last two weeks of 2017 exciting. Why not
end this year by knowing our shortcomings, accepting our faults, celebrating
our victories, reconciling with our loved ones, completing the unfinished tasks
and so much more! We can have a fresh start from 2018 onwards. We can start new
and productive habits, learn new things, leave things damaging to us, and get
out of unhappy and unhealthy lifestyles. We can own 2018!
:DAY ONE, TASK ONE:
NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS: PROS AND CONS
At the end of every year we so enthusiastically make a whole
list of our New Year resolution. There are way bigger tasks than our minds can comprehend.
We make sure that our list have as many new resolutions as possible. From
eating healthy to staying fit, from getting good in studies to getting close to
our goal. There are so many things and no time management. We want to achieve
each and every of our resolutions but we never have time for them.
Let's accept the fact two weeks in the New Year and those New
Year resolutions are waiting for us to even note them. We forget about them
faster than we write them all down.
While there are many pros of the New Year resolutions there
are also many con.
- One is the sense of regret. Which is the worst. We might not feel in the passing days but as the end of the year approaches we come face to face with our old resolutions. We are left with a sense of regret, a bit ashamed. For the next year we again focuses on our old resolutions. And the cycle continues.
And let me get to the part that I personally love about New
Year resolutions. Now, I know most of the people think it is not even
important. Why waste our time thinking about it? And I agree. It's not
important. It's just a way to challenge yourself to experience something new
each year. It's a way through which you can live your life differently each
year, learn something new each year! The best part about these small
resolutions is the level of commitment one need to have in order to win over
them. That's the best thing ever. You are keeping a promise with yourself and
learn from it. You learn the importance of a promise, a commitment. You
challenge yourself, your mind even your body and soul. A twelve month long
race, starting from January the 1st to December the 31st.
Having a New Year resolution is a healthy way to grow. You
can learn from them a lot. It doesn't matter if you succeed by touching the end
line, the more important thing is having the courage to run in the race in the
first place!
